Terms of use

The short version

• Barback is for adults of legal drinking age where you live.
• Recipes are a guide. What you pour, and how much you drink, is up to you.
• The Mixologist is paid for through Apple. Cancel any time in your phone’s Settings.
• The photos, clips and words in Barback are ours, for you to enjoy on your phone.

Barback is made by (“we”, “us”). These terms are between you and us.

Barback is licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add the parts that are particular to Barback. By using Barback, you agree to both.

Barback is for adults of legal drinking age where you live. In the United States, that is 21. If you are younger, please do not use Barback.

Our recipes show what goes into a drink and how to make it. They are not advice on how much to drink. So, please:

• Know your limits, and pace yourself.
• Never drink and drive, or serve someone who is going to.
• Check every ingredient if you have an allergy. Bottles and brands vary.
• Skip alcohol if you are pregnant, or taking medicine that does not mix with it.

What you tell Barback (your bottles, swaps, saved versions and grocery list) stays on your phone. We cannot see it, and if you delete Barback, it goes too. The Privacy page has the details.

The Mixologist guides you through a drink step by step. The Negroni’s guided pour is free for everyone. Every other drink’s comes with a plan:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. Yearly and Monthly renew automatically unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before it ends.

To cancel or change a plan, open your phone’s Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the Mixologist until the end of the period you paid for.

Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. On a new phone, sign in with the same Apple ID and tap Restore purchase.

Prices are shown in US dollars; your App Store shows them in your own currency. If a subscription’s price ever rises, Apple tells you first, and asks you to agree where the law requires it.

We keep adding drinks and improving the Mixologist, so what it includes will change over time.

The drink photographs and technique clips are AI-generated illustrations, made for Barback: they show the drink and the technique, not a photograph of a real pour. The photographs, clips, notes, writing and design in Barback belong to us or to people who licensed them to us. You may use them in Barback for your own enjoyment, and share the drink cards Barback makes for sharing.

Please do not copy, resell or republish them, or collect them from the app by automated means. The classic recipes themselves belong to everyone; the way we present them is ours.

We work hard to keep Barback accurate and working, but it is provided as it is. We cannot promise it will be free of mistakes, always available, or that every drink will turn out exactly like its photograph.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses that come from using Barback, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. None of this limits rights that the law where you live does not let us limit.

You can stop using Barback whenever you like by deleting it. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, so cancel that in Settings first.

We may change these terms as Barback changes. The date at the top always shows the latest version, and if a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it applies. If we ever stop offering the Mixologist while you have a plan, we will tell you in the app first.

These terms are governed by the laws of , except where the consumer law of the place you live says otherwise.
